CCTV Drain Surveys

As time goes on drains and sewers can deteriorate leading to possible structural problems. The cause for this deterioration can be a variety of different reasons from ground movement, root intrusions or simply poor construction. Once these problems do arise it is vital to know exactly where and what you are dealing with, if a sound solution is to be found.

A crawler unit drain camera is used for longer and larger pipe sections.
This is ideal for contractors installing new drains or investigating problems at existing commercial sites.

We have the latest CCTV equipment on our vehicles to assist our engineers to diagnose any potential problem within the drain or pipe. The Camera is pushed or driven along the pipe while the engineer watches a coloured picture on the TV monitor. If any defects are found the engineer will stop the camera and type what they have seen onto a screen writer. Once the survey has finished, the engineer will remove the recorded video or DVD (if required) and return it to the office for a full drain report to be produced and further fault analysis.

Camera surveys these days are not only used for fault finding once a problem has been identified, it is now very common practice for potential home purchasers to request a drain survey before completing on the sale. Given the potential cost of drain repairs, CCTV surveys can definitely pay for themselves many times over.
